EDITING

We have a state of the art Avid Xpress Pro HD edit suite. This is an industry standard editing suite ideally suited to corporate and medium to low cost broadcast production. It has a full range of video transitions and filters including 3D effects, wipes, mixes, chroma key and a sophisticated titling tool. The system can be used for both PAL (UK) and NTSC (USA/Japan) productions as well as High Definition. Projects can be exported from our Avid to other Avid systems or to one of our DVD authoring packages. We can import to our Avid suite from HDCAM, DVCPRO HD, HDV, Digibeta, BetaSP, DVCAM and DVCPRO via SDi.

We also have a Premiere Pro edit suite complete with a full set of uncompressed and HDV plug-ins that allow editing of material shot in Hi-Definition using HDCAM, DVCPRO HD or HDV. Our edit suite has HD SDi and can work with uncompressed HD, ideal for effects laden projects, chroma key and green screen work. This system can also convert from HD to SD (standard definition), edit PAL or NTSC material and convert footage to a whole multitude of other formats including MPEG, Windows Media, Real Media and Quick-Time. Premiere is a great compositing tool and can be used to build up complex graphic or special effects sequences.

The main edit suite is complimented by a full suite of CD and DVD authoring software and has a DVD writer installed. A second standalone computer is networked to the edit suite for additional rendering and encoding capabilities.

LOCATION EDITING

We also have a fully configured laptop computer with both Avid and Premiere software that can be used to edit programmes to broadcast quality (including HD) on location. The laptop system is fully compatible with our main edit suite so projects and files can be easily transferred from one system to the other. Modern laptops are very powerful these days and ours is almost as powerful as our main system. It can be used to edit a programme, author a DVD and produce the master disk with it's built in DVD writer. Our crew vehicle has a built in mains electricity supply so we can run the editing equipment even in the remotest of locations for extended periods. We have 12v field recorders to compliment the laptop as well as add-on storage for larger projects.

Combine our laptop with our DVCAM camcorder and you have a great combination for news gathering and conferences. Broadcast quality, records for up to 3 hours, portable and efficient. You can even use it to encode your finished item and send it over the internet.
